The University of Victoria AERO team would sincerely like to thank you for your contribution to our student team. Polymères Technologies has generously donated their TECHNO LAM 8090 epoxy resin and hardener to our team on several occasions over the past 2 years. We use this product in the construction of our UAV airframes and have found its strong adhesive properties and ease of use to make it a superior product. We have been very grateful for the support of Polymères Technologies and hope to continue to use this great product in the future.

We followed your instructions and applied heat to the mandrel from T+6h to T+15h (we removed vacuum when we removed heat) and then wrapped it in towels to make it cool down more slowly over night.

The tube came off right away when we got here in the morning! We just twisted it a bit and it slid right off. The tube is a bit wrinkly but that’s something we will work on.

It worked marvelously! Just for reference, the temperature of the inner wall of the aluminum mandrel was about 65C and about 50C on the outside of the bag. We heated the mandrel using two heat guns, one blowing inside the mandrel and one blowing outside on the opposite side of the bag.

Thank you so much for getting back to us so quickly on a weekend! You definitely saved the day.

Sincerely
